Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step is to try to absorb as much of the mascara stain as possible. Begin by drying the fabric around the stained area with a paper towel or clean cloth. This will help prevent the stain from spreading.

Step 2: Make a Paste Out of Baking Soda

Make a paste out of regular baking soda and a small amount of water. Apply the paste directly to the stained area and then allow it to dry. Once dry, scrape the baking soda off and discard it. You may notice some of the mascara has been removed already!

Step 3: Rub Some Dish Soap on the Stain

Take a few drops of dish soap and add a little water before rubbing it into the stain. Let it sit for approximately 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off. This should help lift and remove remaining mascara.

Step 4: Use a Laundry Stain Remover

If the stain still remains after steps 1-3, try using a laundry stain remover. These products are specially designed to penetrate and remove stubborn stains. Follow the directions on product to get the best results.

Step 5: Wash Shirt

Once you've removed the stain, wash the shirt as normal. Be sure to line-dry the shirt rather than putting in the dryer, as the heat can set the stain.

Conclusion

By following these five simple steps, you can easily remove mascara stains from your sleep shirt. And while prevention is key, now you know that with a little effort, you can have your favorite shirt looking like new again!
