What You Need
- Gentle laundry detergent
- White vinegar
- Oxygen-based bleach
- Clean white cloth
- Bowl of warm water
Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain
If stain is fresh, begin by blotting it with a clean white cloth, taking care not to spread the mascara. Then, pour a few drops of laundry detergent directly onto the stained area and gently massage it in. Finally, add some white vinegar and continue massaging until a lather appears.
Step 2: Treat with Oxygen-Based Bleach
Once the pre-treatment is done, pre-soak sleep pants in a bowl of warm water with about ¼ cup of oxygen-based bleach. If the stain is still visible after the pre-treatment, pour a few drops of oxygen-based bleach directly onto the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Step 3: Wash as Usual
Place garment in the washing machine, making sure it is set to a gentle cycle. Use cold water and the correct amount of laundry detergent for size of the load. After the cycle is complete, check to make sure the stain has been successfully removed. If not, repeat cleaning process again.
