Tips & Tricks for Effectively Cleaning Mascara Stains from Silk Shantung

Mascara stains can be a real headache to clean! Whether they end up on clothing, furniture, or other delicate surfaces like silk shantung, they often require special attention and care. Here are some tips and tricks for cleaning mascara stains from silk shantung fabric so you can get the job done quickly and effectively.

Step 1: Blot the Stain Carefully

Carefully blot the stain with a clean white cloth or paper towel. It’s important to blot the stain rather than scrubbing it, as scrubbing can drive mascara into fabric fibers and make it harder to remove. Once you’ve blotted as much of the mascara as possible, move onto the next step.

Step 2: Create a Mix of Mild Dish Soap and Lukewarm Water

Step 5: Let the Fabric Air Dry

Finally, let the fabric air dry completely. If you’re in a hurry, you can also use a blow dryer on the cool setting. Be careful not to hold blow dryer too close to the silk fabric, as this can cause it to scorch.
