Mascara stains on your shantung fabric may seem impossible to get out, but with the right approach and a few basic products, you can clean it up in no time! All of the items you need to get the job done are likely already in your home:
Once you have all of these items, start by following these steps:
With a white towel, dampen the stained area and blot it gently with dry cleaning detergent. Make sure you don't use too much detergent so that it doesn't bleach the fabric.
Once the area is dampened with dry cleaning detergent, use a clean, white cloth to very gently scrub the stain in a circular motion. Be careful not to rub too hard, as it can cause the fabric to fray. After a few minutes of scrubbing, rinse the area with cold water.
Lay the stained area face-down on a clean, dry white towel. Using an iron set to low heat, slowly press the area. This will help lift leftover residue. Finish up by making sure the area is completely dry.
Now your shantung fabric is clean and free of mascara stains!
