Whether it’s a smudged mascara stain or a full-on tear, removing mascara stains from your sari is a delicate process. Here are some tips to help you get those pesky stains out:
Create a homemade stain removal solution to use on your sari. Put 1/3 cup of white vinegar and 2/3 cup of water into a spray bottle. Shake well to mix the solution together.
Spray the stain with the solution you created and let sit for several minutes. Gently rub the stain with a soft cloth while it is still wet. Rinse the area with cold water.
Fill a washing machine with cold water and add a mild detergent. Place the sari inside the machine and gently wash on a delicate cycle. Hang the garment to dry in a well-ventilated space.
If some of the stain is still visible, create another solution and spot treat the stain with a soft cloth. Fill a clean spray bottle with one tablespoon of dish soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and three tablespoons of water. Shake well to mix all the ingredients. Spray the stain and rub it gently with a clean white cloth. Rinse the area with cold water and let the garment air dry.
With these tips and tricks, you can keep your sari looking great for years to come. Hopefully, your sari is now free of any pesky mascara stains!
