Mascara stains on poplin fabric can be stubborn and difficult to remove. Even popular spot removal products like Oxyclean don't always seem to do the trick. But fear not, tackling those unsightly mascara stains doesn’t need to be so hard! Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to clean mascara stains from poplin:
Begin by applying a pre-spotter directly onto the stained area. Pre-spotters are designed to help loosen up the stain before trying to treat it, making it easier to remove. Let the pre-spotter sit for 5 minutes or so, then gently blot area with a damp cloth.
Create a solution of detergent and warm water. Using a soft cloth, lightly apply solution to the stained area. Be sure to avoid rubbing the fabric, as this can cause permanent damage to the fibers. Instead, opt for a more gentle patting motion.
Once the detergent has been applied, rinse the area with lukewarm water. Use a clean cloth to blot the area and lift up as much of the stain as possible. Continue to blot until the stain is almost gone. If necessary, repeat steps 2 and 3.
Once stain has been removed, allow the fabric to air dry. When completely dry, launder as usual following the instructions on the care label. If the stain remains after laundering, repeat steps above.
And there you have it - an easy way to remove mascara stains from poplin fabric. With these simple steps, you can keep your poplin fabric looking like new!
