Step 1: Apply a Stain Remover Solution
The first step in cleaning a mascara stain is to create a stain remover solution. Start by mixing together equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl. Then, add a teaspoon of liquid detergent and mix it all together. Use a sponge to apply this solution to the stained area. Let solution sit for at least 10 minutes before moving on to the next step.
Step 2: Blot the Stain with a Clean Cloth
Once the solution has had time to work its magic, take a clean cloth and gently blot the area to absorb the remaining solution and mascara stain. Avoid rubbing the cloth too vigorously as this can cause the stain to spread.
Step 3: Rinse and Repeat
Rinse area with warm water and repeat steps 1 and 2 if the stain is still visible. Once stain is gone, rinse the polo shirt one more time and let it air dry.
