When it comes to removing mascara, the key is to act quickly. The longer a stain remains, the harder it will be to remove! So, the best way to tackle a mascara stain is to get to work on it immediately when you notice it.

The first thing you should do is to spot clean stained area using a damp cloth and cold water. Work the cloth gently into the stain by blotting at the area. Do NOT rub or scrub; this will only make the stain spread further. If the stain proves stubborn, you can try pre-treating the area with a mild detergent or an enzyme detergent.

Once the spot has been pre-treated, you can then begin the laundry process. Make sure to turn the garment inside out before placing it in the washing machine. Set the machine to the delicate cycle and use a mild detergent or laundry soap. Once the wash cycle is complete, hang garment up to air dry. Do not put it in the dryer as the heat can set the stain permanently.

If the stain still persists after washing, you can try treating it with some rubbing alcohol. Saturate a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and dab it onto the stain. Let the alcohol work its magic for about fifteen minutes before rinsing the garment with cold water. Hang up the garment again to finish air drying.

With a bit of quick thinking and elbow grease, you can easily get rid of mascara stains from your parka jacket in no time!
