What You'll Need

  • Soft-bristle brush
  • Absorbent towel
  • Stain remover
  • Warm water
  • Laundry detergent

Step 1: Gently Blot Stains with an Absorbent Towel

Using an absorbent towel, gently blot at mascara stains. Taking care to minimize any spread of the stain, use even pressure as you press down. If your towel gets too saturated, switch to a fresh one. Continue until you have removed as much of the mascara as possible.

Step 2: Apply Stain Remover

Once you have blotted away as much of the mascara stain as possible, liberally apply a stain remover to affected area. Follow the instructions on the product package and allow remover to work for the specified amount of time.

Step 3: Brush Stains Away Lightly

Using a soft-bristle brush, carefully brush the area with light strokes until product has absorbed most of the stain. Take caution to ensure the brush does not damage the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse and Wash

Rinse the fabric using warm water, then wash with a mild laundry detergent. Once the garment has been washed and dried, the stain should be gone and the mohair fabric will look like new.
