Before you start, it's important to assess damage and clean any excess mascara away first. Use a damp cloth and gently wipe away the excess stain from the surface of your kitchen utensil. Try not to rub too hard – it may damage the material.
Next, pre-treat stain with a non-abrasive cleaner like washing up liquid. Wet the stained area with warm water and add a few drops of the liquid to create a thick paste. Work the paste into the fabric with your fingers, using gentle circular motions.
Finally, put utensil in the washing machine on a standard cycle at the highest temperature allowed for the fabric. This will ensure that the stain is thoroughly removed. After washing, air dry or use a low heat setting in dryer. The end result should be a stain free kitchen utensil.
