When dealing with mascara stains on Hermes fabrics, it is important to act quickly before stain sets in. This will make sure that you don't damage fabric when attempting to remove the stain. You should also check the care label of your garment for any instructions or warnings provided.

Removing Mascara Stains from Silk Fabrics

For silk fabrics, you should use cold water and a mild liquid detergent to remove the stain. Don't use hot water as this could cause the stain to set.

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of detergent with 1 cup of cold water.
  • Dampen a clean cloth with the solution and blot stained area.
  • Repeat until the stain is removed. Make sure not to rub stain as this could damage the fabric.
  • Rinse the area with clean water to remove any detergent residue.
  • Air dry the fabric.

Removing Mascara Stains from Wool Fabrics

When removing mascara stains from wool fabrics, you should avoid using water. Instead, you should use a dry-cleaning solvent.

  • Dab a clean cloth in the dry-cleaning solvent and blot the stain.
  • Be careful not to over saturate the fabric with the solvent.
  • Let the solvent sit on the stain for 5 minutes.
  • Blot the fabric with a clean cloth to remove solvent and the stain.
  • If the stain remains, repeat the above steps until the stain is removed.

Removing Mascara Stains from Cotton Fabrics

For cotton fabrics, you can use a mixture of baking soda and water to remove the stain. The baking soda will work to neutralize the stain.

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water.
  • Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture and dab the stained area.
  • Repeat until the stain is removed. Don't rub or scrub stain as this could damage fabric.
  • Rinse area with clean water to remove any baking soda residue.
  • Air dry the fabric.
