Mascara stains can be difficult to remove, but it's not impossible if you know right steps to take. Here is a simple guide for cleaning your hat:
- First, check the tag on your hat for washing instructions.
- If hat is machine-washable, pre-treat any areas with the mascara stain with a stain remover such as dish soap or laundry detergent.
- For hats made of wool or a delicate fabric, wet a cloth or sponge with cool water and gently dab at stain.
- If the hat is machine-washable, put it in the washer on the gentle cycle with cold water. Afterwards, air-dry the hat or lay it flat on a towel so that the brim stays flat.
- If hat is not suitable for washing machine, wait for stain remover to work and then use a sponge to gently scrub at mascara stain. Rinse the sponge in cool water and continue scrubbing until the stain is gone.
- Once stain has been removed, let the hat air dry.
