How to Easily Remove Mascara Stains from Habutai Silk

Habutai silk is a lightweight, high-luster fabric that is often used for formal occasions. However, it can quickly become stained if not properly taken care of. One of the most common stains to find on it is mascara. Fortunately, knowing the proper steps and materials for removal makes it easy to get rid of these pesky spots.
Step 1: Soak the Fabric
Start by filling a bowl or sink with cold water and a mild liquid detergent. Place the Habutai silk into the water and allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Apply Stain Remover
After the item has been soaked, it’s time to apply a stain remover. A stain remover that works well on mascara stains is diluted bleach and water mixture. Prepare solution according to the directions on package, and then dab the stain remover onto affected area with a clean cloth or cotton swab.
Step 3: Rinse and Dry
Rinse the area with cold water and then blot it dry with a clean towel. Allow the fabric to air dry and then inspect to make sure the stain has been removed. If there is still some residue, repeat the steps until the stain has been adequately removed.
