This method is great for both fresh and old mascara stains. Begin by mixing a teaspoon of mild dish soap with one cup of warm water. Dip the cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stained area to get rid of the mascara, careful not to rub the fabric too harshly. Let liquid soak in for a few minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. Allow the fabric to air dry.
For tougher or older mascara stains, try using baking soda. Start by combining two parts baking soda with one part water until you have a paste. Apply paste directly onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Once the time is up, gently scrub the fabric together with your finger or a soft cloth until the mascara has been lifted. Rinse off fabric with lukewarm water and leave to dry in the air.
If the other methods still didn’t do the trick, white vinegar can help. Start by mixing half a cup of white vinegar with one cup of warm water. Dip the cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stained area to help lift the mascara. Leave the fabric to sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. Once done, allow the fabric to air dry.
