Mascara smudges, streaks, and smears can be incredibly difficult to get out of clogs, especially if they have been sitting on the shoe for a while. With these steps, however, you will easily be able to clean off any of your clog’s mascara stains:

Step 1: Soak

The first step is to completely soak the clog in warm water for at least 30 minutes. This will help to loosen the mascara's hold on the fabric. If your clog has a removable insole, pull it out before you start soaking it. Additionally, you should make sure to use a gentle detergent during the cleaning process as harsh chemicals could cause discoloration or damage to the clog.

Step 2: Scrub

Once clog has finished soaking, it’s time to get scrubbing! Use a soft cloth and gently scrub the mascara stains using a small dab of gentle detergent. You may need to do this multiple times to make sure that all of the mascara is removed.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Once you’ve finished scrubbing, it’s time to rinse and dry the clog. Again, use warm water and a soft cloth to make sure all of the soap residue is gone. Once everything is rinsed off, let your clog air dry or use a blowdryer on a cool setting. Avoid using heat as it could damage the clog.

Step 4: Reinsert Insole

After the clog is dry, it's time to reinsert the insole if there is one. This will help protect the fabric and prevent the clog from wearing out quickly.

That's all there is to it! With these simple steps, your clog’s mascara stain will be gone by the time you need to wear them again.
