Step 1: Act Quickly!

It may sound obvious, but quicker you act, the better chance you have at removing the stain. Grab a paper towel or cloth and some gentle detergent and get to work.

Step 2: Gently Work the Stain

Start by lightly dabbing the stain with a wet cloth. Don’t rub or scrub, as this can damage the delicate fibers of Chico’s garment. Keep dabbing with a damp paper towel for up to five minutes until you begin to see the stain fading.

Step 3: Apply Detergent

Once the stain has faded, it’s time to apply the detergent. Start by mixing a tablespoon of mild detergent with a cup of warm water. Dip a cloth into the mixture and gently blot the stained area. Doing so will help to lift the mascara stain from the fabric and make it easier to remove.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

After working the stain with detergent, rinse the garment in cold water. Once the stain is gone, lay the garment out to dry. Do not place the garment in the dryer – heat can cause the stain to set permanently.
