1. Using an old toothbrush or soft-bristle brush, gently scrub the stained area with a solution made of 1 teaspoon of detergent with warm water and a little ammonia. Repeatedly scrub for about 2 minutes.
2. Let the cleaning solution sit for 10-15 minutes before patting it down with a damp cloth.
3. Use a fresh cloth, soak it in cold water and dab the area several times to rinse it.
4. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the affected area and leave it to sit overnight.
5. Vacuum up the baking soda in the morning and admire the stain-free area rug!

Tips:

• If you can still see stain, repeat steps 1-5 until it is all gone.
• Make sure to use a trusted detergent such as Tide.
• Do not use bleach on the area rug as this may cause it to discolor.
