What You Need

  • Mild detergent
  • Laundry stain remover
  • White vinegar
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Clean rags or paper towels

Step 1: Blot Up Any Excess Mascara

Using a clean rag or paper towel, gently blot mascara stain to remove any excess product. Do not rub stain, as this can cause it to spread.

Step 2: Pre-Treat With Stain Remover

Once all of the excess mascara is removed, pre-treat the stain with a laundry stain remover. Follow the instructions on the product label for best results.

Step 3: Soak in a Mild Detergent and Vinegar Solution

To further treat the stain, make a solution of one part mild detergent and one part white vinegar, then soak the fabric in mixture for 30 minutes. After soaking, rinse the fabric with cool water.

Step 4: Rinse and Air Dry

Next, rinse the fabric with cold water and gently brush the area with a soft bristled brush to remove any remaining residue. Allow the fabric to air dry. Repeat these steps if necessary.
