Mascara stains are one of the toughest makeup stains to deal with. On top of that, they can be particularly hard to remove when they are on the delicate material of an abaya. But worry not! With some patience and the right tactics, you can easily remove mascara stains from your abaya and make it look as good as new again.
Materials Needed
- Bowl of warm water
- Mild detergent or laundry soap
- Baking soda (optional)
- Clothing stain remover (optional)
- Clean white cloths
- Small brush or toothbrush
- Vacuum cleaner (optional)
Step-by-Step Guide
- Dampen the stained area with warm water.
- Mix a tablespoon of mild detergent with one cup of warm water and apply liberally to the stain.
- Using a small brush or a toothbrush, gently work the detergent into the fabric and create foamy suds.
- Let the foam sit for 15 minutes before rinsing the abaya with clean warm water.
- If the stain persists, sprinkle stained area with baking soda and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.
- If the stain still persists, spray stain with a clothing stain remover and let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. Apply again if necessary.
- Let abaya air dry completely and then use a vacuum cleaner to remove residual powder.
