Having a few kids around your home can be a lot of fun, but with kids comes messes. Markers are a staple for creative activities, but it's inevitable that they will end up somewhere other than paper. When you find yourself with marker stains on your wallpaper, don't worry - we've got you covered.

Using a butter knife or the edge of an old credit card, gently scrape away any large chunks of marker that may still remain on the wallpaper. Be careful not to press down too hard and tear the wallpaper.
Mix 1/4 cup of dish soap with one quart of warm water. Using a soft cloth, dab the solution onto the stained area. This will help to lift the marker stain out of wallpaper.
Using a clean damp cloth, gently wipe away the solution. Be sure to rinse the cloth frequently as you wipe so you don't spread the stain.
After wiping away the solution, apply a specialist stain remover to the affected area. Follow the instructions on the stain remover bottle and use a scrubbing brush to lightly scrub the area. Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area with warm water.
Finally, to eliminate any residual odor caused by the mark, use an odor neutralizing spray on the area. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and then wipe away with a clean damp cloth.
