Twill fabric is a sturdy material commonly found in clothing, upholstery and curtains. Unfortunately, marker stains can easily set in if not treated properly. To save yourself hassle and preserve your twill fabric, follow these five steps:

  1. Gently scrape away excess dried marker using a blunt knife or spoon.
  2. Blot area with a clean cloth and some rubbing alcohol. Be sure to press on the stain, rather than scrubbing it.
  3. Wash the fabric according to manufacturer's instructions. If the stain persists after washing, repeat steps one through three.
  4. Mix one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of warm water and apply the mixture directly to the stain. Let it sit for 15 – 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
  5. If the stain remains after you’ve tried all these methods, take the fabric to a professional cleaner.

By following these five steps, you can easily get rid of marker stains on twill fabric and keep it looking like new. So get cleaning, and remember to keep markers away from your twill fabrics in the future.
