The first step in trying to remove a marker stain from tussah fabric is to spread out fabric on a flat surface and to blot the stain with a damp cloth. Use clean, lukewarm water for the cloth and press gently, taking care not to rub the fabric too hard. This will help to remove some of the excess color from marker.
Once you have blotter the stain, mix a solution of mild detergent and white vinegar or lemon juice. For a one-liter solution, use ½ cup of detergent and ¼ cup of white vinegar or lemon juice. This solution will help to remove the remaining stain on the tussah fabric.
Soak a clean cloth in the solution and squeeze out excess liquid before gently rubbing the cloth over the affected area.
Rinse cloth and repeat process as needed, until the stain has been removed. If the stain is still present, mix a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to fabric. Let the paste sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cool water.
When all stains are gone, allow the tussah fabric to air dry. This is an important step as using a machine to dry fabric may cause the stain to set and become permanent.
By following the simple steps outlined above, you should be able to get rid of marker stains on tussah fabric easily. This method is proven to work and can help you keep your tussah looking as good as new for a long time.
