Method 1: Soap and Water

The first method for removing marker stains from tunics is to use soap and water. Before you soak the garment in water, first use a damp cloth to gently brush away the excess marker. If you don't remove excess marker first, you might end up making the stain spreads even more. Once you have removed the excess marker, take an old toothbrush, dip it in liquid laundry detergent, and create some suds with it. Then, scrub the stained area with the sudsy toothbrush. Rinse area with fresh, lukewarm water and let it air dry.

Method 2: Rubbing Alcohol

The second method involves using rubbing alcohol to remove marker stains from tunics. This method works best if marker stain is new. First, take a cloth and dampen it with warm water. Use the damp cloth to blot the stain until it is barely visible. Then, pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth, and again blot stain for around 5 minutes or until the stain has gone. Finally, rinse the area thoroughly with lukewarm water and allow it to air dry.

Method 3: Vinegar and Salt

The third method for removing marker stains from tunics is to use a mixture of vinegar and salt. Take a few tablespoons of white vinegar and mix it with two tablespoons of salt in a bowl. Take a cloth and dampen it in this mixture, and then dab the stained area with the cloth. Rub it lightly until the stain starts to fade. Finally, rinse the area with lukewarm water and let it air dry.

Tips and Tricks

  • If the marker stain is still visible after trying one of these methods, try repeating the steps.
  • If the stain persists even after trying the methods multiple times, it's best to take the garment to a dry cleaner.
  • It's important to always test any cleaning agent on a small, unobtrusive area of the garment before applying it to the stain.
  • Be careful not to use hot water as this may set the stain even further.
