When your swimwear becomes stained with marker, it's important to act fast before the stain sets in. If you can, try to immediately rinse the affected area under cold water for about 10 to 15 minutes. This will prevent the marker from sinking further into the fabric and make it easier to tackle later on.

You can also dab the stain with a towel to absorb as much of the marker as possible. This will help minimize the amount of cleaning solution needed to remove the marker later. After you've blotted the area, run the swimsuit through a cold cycle in the washing machine or hand wash it with detergent.

Alternatively, you may prefer to use a cleaning solution specially designed to remove marker stains. Many solutions contain ingredients such as bleach, glycolic acid, and white vinegar, which have all been known to work well in removing marker stains. Make sure to double check the instructions on the bottle as some cleaners may require you to pre-treat the spot with a brush or soak the garment in the solution prior to washing.

Once you've washed the swimwear, inspect the area to see if stain is still visible. If it is, take a toothbrush and scrub the spot with a bit of liquid dish soap and some water. For tougher stains, opt for a stronger solution such as rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide.

Once you've successfully removed the marker stain from your swimwear, it's important to properly dry it to prevent any bacteria from growing. Hang the item up to dry in an area with adequate ventilation and don't put it in the dryer.

Following these tips and tricks should help you remove marker stains from your swimwear and get back to enjoying summer days at the beach or pool.
