Using a cotton swab, dab some rubbing alcohol on stained area. Slowly start to spread the alcohol around, taking care not to spread the stain further. The alcohol should start to break up stain, making it easier to remove with the cotton swab.
If the above method doesn’t seem to work, try using a wet toothbrush with a dab of toothpaste. Gently scrub the mark until it has lifted, then rinse off the toothpaste with warm water. This cleaning method can be used on plastic frames to remove any type of mark or stain.
For stubborn marker stains and for deeper cleaning, professional services are available. Most optical outlets have staff and supplies that can replace lenses or clean them thoroughly. If you do choose to have your sunglasses professionally cleaned, keep in mind that it can be expensive, so make sure to ask about rates and fees before beginning.
