Marker stains on silk gazar can be a difficult spot to remove. The fabric is delicate and chlorine-based cleaners may discolor or damage it. With the right approach, however, it’s possible to clean up the mess and restore the fabric to its former glory.
What You’ll Need:
- A large bowl of cool water
- White vinegar
- Laundry detergent
- A soft cloth
Instructions:
- Soak fabric in cool water for 10 minutes. This will help to loosen the stain. Don’t use hot water as this could cause the stain to set further into the fabric.
- Mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 5 parts cool water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and blot the stained area gently. Do not rub as this could damage the fabric.
- Make a cleaning solution with some laundry detergent and cool water. Dip a soft cloth into mixture and gently rub the stained area. Rinse with clear water and then pat dry with a paper towel.
- Set the fabric aside and let it air dry. Inspect the fabric for any remaining stains before using the fabric for another project.
