Get Rid of Marker Stains on Silk Chiffon: An Easy Guide

No one wants marker stains on their silk chiffon. Fortunately, you don't have to throw out delicate fabric – here's a simple guide to remove marker stains with ease.

What You Need

  • Dish soap
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • White cloth

Instructions

  1. Mix a small amount of warm water and dish soap in a bowl.
  2. Using a white cloth, blot (do not rub!) the stained area with the soap solution. This should remove any excess oils associated with the marker.
  3. Mix hydrogen peroxide and distilled white vinegar in a bowl until combined. Be sure to use equal parts of both ingredients.
  4. Using a new white cloth, apply the mixture to stained area and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
  5. Blot the stain with a fresh cloth that has been soaked in warm water.
  6. Launder the fabric as usual, following the care instructions and using a mild detergent.
