Pongee is a type of silk fabric with a flat, ribbed surface and is often used for curtains and other garments. Unfortunately, it is also prone to staining by water-soluble markers and inks. But don't worry - task of removing marker stains from Pongee doesn't have to be difficult.
Begin by blotting up any excess liquid with a clean, white cloth. Do not rub the fabric, as this can spread the stain or cause it to set.
Pre-treat stain by applying a mild detergent directly to the affected area. Gently massage the detergent into the fabric using your fingertips. Let the detergent sit for 10-15 minutes before proceeding.
Next, launder the fabric according to the manufacturer's instructions. Use cold or warm water and the gentlest cycle available. If the fabric is delicate, consider laundering it by hand.
When the fabric has finished washing, check for any residue left behind by marker. If stain is still visible, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until marker has been completely removed.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
