The first step to removing marker stains from polyester is to scrape off any excess marker that might be still clinging to fabric. This will help prevent the residual ink from permanently staining the fabric. To do this, make sure you use a dull knife or spoon that won't damage the fabric. Once you've scraped off the excess marker, make sure to discard it in a safe place.
Once the excess marker has been removed, you’ll want to pretreat the stain. To do this, mix a few drops of liquid laundry detergent in some cool water, then apply it to the stained area. Let it sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Finally, once the pretreatment has been rinsed off, you’ll want to launder the fabric with cold water. Make sure to use a mild detergent or one specifically designed for polyester fabrics to ensure that the fabric isn't damaged in the process. After laundering, check to make sure the stain is gone, and if not, repeat steps two and three until the stain is completely gone.
We hope you found these steps helpful in removing marker stains from your polyester fabric! With just a few simple steps, you can get rid of those stubborn marker stains in no time.
