3 Simple Steps to Remove Marker Stains from Overalls
Getting marker stains on overalls can be easily done and can be frustrating, especially if you don’t know how to get rid of them. Luckily, there are a few simple steps you can take to get your overalls looking like new again.

Step One: Pre-Treat the Stain with Detergent
The first step to remove marker stains from overalls is to pre-treat the stain with a laundry detergent. If overalls are colored, try using a detergent that is specifically designed for colors to make sure you don’t damage the fabric. If the overalls are white, use a detergent that is made for whites. To pre-treat the stain, mix a small amount of detergent with warm water and apply it directly to the marker stain.
Step Two: Use a Clean Cloth and Rubbing Alcohol
Once you have pre-treated the stain with detergent, use a clean cloth and rubbing alcohol to remove the remaining marker stain. Apply the rubbing alcohol to the cloth and blot the stained area, making sure to not press down too hard as this could cause stain to spread. Continue to blot the stain until all of the marker is removed. If needed, you can also use a scrub brush to gently scrub at stain as well.
Step Three: Wash the Overalls in Hot Water
The last step to remove the marker stain from overalls is to wash them in hot water. Make sure to check the care label on the overalls first to make sure that hot water is safe for washing. Once you’ve checked that it is okay to use hot water, add the overalls to a regular cycle in washing machine and let them air dry.
After following these steps, your overalls should be free of any marker stains. If stain still remains, it is best to repeat the steps or take them to a professional cleaner to ensure that the stain is completely removed.
