Begin by soaking a soft cloth in white vinegar, squeezing out the excess liquid, and blotting stain. You may need to do this several times in order to lift marker pigment out of fabric. Be sure to rinse the cloth after each use and repeat the process until the stain begins to diminish.
Create a mixture of mild detergent and lukewarm water, and use a soft cloth to apply it directly to the stained area, working it in gently. Let the soapy mixture sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse it out with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain begins to disappear.
If stain has still not been removed, try using a specially formulated stain remover. Follow the instructions on the label, and be sure to rinse thoroughly after treatment.
Throw your midi dress into washing machine and select the appropriate washing cycle, following the manufacturer's instructions. After cycle is complete, inspect the stained areas to make sure that all marker has been removed - if not, go back to Step 1 and repeat the process.
Getting marker stains out of clothes can be tricky, especially when it comes to a delicate midi dress. But with a bit of patience and the right technique, you can easily remove marker stains without ruining the fabric or color of your dress.
