Before you begin, make sure you have the necessary supplies to clean the stain. You’ll need a mild detergent, rubbing alcohol, white vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide.
Mix together one teaspoon of mild detergent with one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide. Apply this pre-treatment solution to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Using cold water, gently rinse the pre-treated area. Avoid scrubbing the fabric, as this could cause marker to spread.
If the stain is still visible, apply rubbing alcohol to the area. Let the rubbing alcohol sit for 5-10 minutes. Blot it with a damp cloth.
Finally, place item in the washing machine and wash it on a gentle cycle using cold water. Let item air-dry.
Marker stains may seem difficult to remove, but with the right cleaning supplies, they can be eliminated from merino fabrics in a few simple steps. With these tips, you should be able to get your merino fabrics looking like new again in no time.
