Tools Needed

  • Paper towels
  • Stain remover
  • Laundry detergent
  • Old toothbrush
  • Lint roller

Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Paper Towel

Start by placing a paper towel beneath stained area on the leggings. Then, use another dry paper towel to blot the stain. Do not rub the stain as that could spread it.

Step 2: Apply Stain Remover to Stain

Dab a small amount of stain remover directly onto the stained area. Let the stain remover sit for several minutes before blotting it away with a paper towel.

Step 3: Pre-Treat the Area with Laundry Detergent

Squeeze a small amount of laundry detergent onto stained area. Gently scrub the area with an old toothbrush. Try to avoid rubbing the stained area too hard, as this could further spread stain.

Step 4: Put Your Leggings in the Wash and Use a Lint Roller

Wash your leggings according to the instructions on the label. Once they come out of washer, roll a lint roller over stained area. This will help to remove any lingering marker residue.

Conclusion

While marker stains on leggings can be annoying, they are definitely not permanent. Just follow these easy steps to get marker stains out of your favorite leggings and you’ll be good to go.
