Before you begin, make sure you have the proper supplies on hand. You'll need a clean cloth or paper towel, liquid laundry detergent, white vinegar, and rubbing alcohol.
Soak stained area in warm water with a few drops of liquid laundry detergent added to it. Let the jeans soak for 15-20 minutes.
After soaking the jeans, wipe the stain with a cloth or paper towel soaked with rubbing alcohol. (Be sure to test the alcohol on another piece of fabric first to make sure it doesn't discolor the jeans.) Blot the area gently until the marker starts to lift off.
If the rubbing alcohol didn't do the trick, you can try applying a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water to the stain. Let the solution sit for about 10 minutes and then blot it with a cloth or paper towel to remove marker.
Once you've removed as much of the marker stain as possible, launder jeans as usual, using the hottest water safe for the fabric. If stain persists, repeat the process before drying your jeans.
Removing marker stains from fabric doesn't have to be a daunting task. With the right supplies and a bit of patience, you can typically get most, if not all, of the marker out of your jeans.
