What You'll Need

  • Mild Dish Soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Paper Towels
  • Soft Cloth

Step 1: Pre-Treat with Dish Soap

Begin by pre-treating the stained area with a small amount of mild dish soap. Rub the detergent gently into the fabric and allow it to sit for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water. This step helps to loosen the stain and make the next steps easier.

Step 2: Scrub the Stain

Once the pre-treatment is complete, use a clean toothbrush to scrub the remaining stain. Make sure to be gentle — you don’t want to cause damage to headband fabric. Rinse area again to remove any remaining detergent.

Step 3: Let it Dry

Once the stain has been removed, be sure to let the headband hang dry instead of using a clothes dryer. Heat from the dryer can cause the stain to set into the fabric and make it almost impossible to remove.

Step 4: Polish the Headband

After the headband has dried, you can polish it using a soft cloth. This will help restore shine to the fabric and hide any remaining faint traces of the stain.
