What You'll Need

  • Clean cloth or paper towels
  • Cold water
  • Mild liquid detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Oxygen bleach
  • Stain remover or laundry pre-treater

Steps to Follow

  1. First, try to remove as much of the excess ink as possible with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  2. Soak the stained area in cold water for about 30 minutes.
  3. Create a mixture of mild liquid detergent and white vinegar, and apply it to the stain. Let it sit for five minutes.
  4. If necessary, apply a stain remover or laundry pre-treater to the stain, following the product’s directions.
  5. Rinse the fabric with cold water. Then, apply a solution of oxygen bleach and cold water to the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  6. Rinse the fabric again with cold water, then launder as usual.

Tips for Success

  • Act quickly! The longer you let stain sit, the tougher it will be to remove.
  • Always test any cleaning solution on a hidden area of the fabric first to ensure it doesn’t cause damage.
