What You'll Need
- WD-40
- An old toothbrush
- Cotton swabs
- Dishwashing liquid
- A microfiber cloth
Instructions
- Scrape off the excess ink: If the marker stain is still wet, use an old toothbrush to scrape off as much of the ink as possible. This will make it easier to remove the rest of stain.
- Spray the area with WD-40: Next, spray the stained area with WD-40. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow the lubricant to break down the stain.
- Wipe away the WD-40 with a cloth: Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove the WD-40.
- Treat the area with dishwashing liquid: Dampen a cotton swab with dishwashing liquid and dab it on the affected area. Gently massage the dishwashing liquid into the stain until it begins to lift.
- Rinse off the dishwashing liquid with water: Once stain has begun to lighten, use a damp cloth to rinse the area. Make sure to get rid of all traces of dishwashing liquid before moving on to the next step.
- Finish cleaning the area with a damp cloth: Finally, use a damp cloth to wipe away any remaining ink. Keep wiping until no more ink comes off.
