No one likes to come home from a night out and discover their cocktail dress covered in marker. Fortunately, you don’t have to resign yourself to sporting a stained dress. You can remove the stains with a few household items.

Start by scraping off as much of the marker as possible with a dull knife or spoon. When that is completed, fill a bucket or basin with warm water and add a tablespoon of dish soap. Place the garment in the mixture and allow it to soak for about 30 minutes. Once the fabric has softened, use an old toothbrush to scrub the area with the stain.
After the fabric has been scrubbed, mix together some white vinegar and two tablespoons of baking soda. This mixture should create a paste-like substance. Carefully apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Before rinsing, examine the mark to see if it has faded. If the result isn’t satisfactory, try rubbing the area with a cloth soaked in alcohol before repeating the process.
In order to complete the task of removing the marker stain, rinse the garment in a basin filled with cool water. Afterwards, hang the dress to air-dry. Do not put the item in the dryer, as it could cause the stain to become even more permanent.
