If you act quickly, you can often remove marker stains while they are still wet. To do this, take a damp cloth or paper towel and gently blot the stained area. Do not rub or scrub it, as this can spread the stain further.
If blotting does not remove entire stain, try using a small amount of laundry detergent on the damp cloth. Apply the detergent to the cloth and gently dab the stain. Finally, rinse the area with more warm water and dry it with a soft cloth.
If the marker has had time to dry on the fabric, removal is more challenging but still possible. Begin by placing something behind the fabric that will not be damaged by rubbing alcohol or hairspray. This will prevent the stain from spreading to the other side.
Next, use a cotton swab to apply one of these two solutions directly to the stain. Rub the solution into fabric in a circular motion and continue until the stain is no longer visible. Once the stain has been removed, rinse area with cool water and dry with a soft cloth.
To help protect Burberry fabrics from markers and other types of stains, consider using a stain-resistant spray. These sprays work by forming an invisible barrier that repels liquids and dirt, making it easier to clean up spills before they have time to set in.
No one wants to have to deal with marker stains on their clothes, but with a little extra care and cleaning technique, removing marker stains from Burberry fabrics is easy enough. Just remember to grab a damp cloth (or a bit of laundry detergent) when it first happens.
