Supplies Needed:
- Rag
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Cloth
- Vacuum cleaner
Step 1: Blot Stain with a Rag
First, try to remove as much of the excess ink as possible by gently blotting the stain with a clean rag. Don’t scrub, just lightly dab the stain to absorb the leftover ink.
Step 2: Make a Baking Soda Paste
Mix together baking soda and white vinegar to create a paste. Stir until the mixture is thick enough to spread on the stain.
Step 3: Apply the Paste
Spread the paste over the stain and let it sit for at least 15 minutes so that it has enough time to work its magic.
Step 4: Vacuum up the Paste
Once paste has had time to work, you can vacuum it up with a hand-held vacuum cleaner or an upright model.
Step 5: Rinse
Mix together some water and hydrogen peroxide and use a cloth to gently dab the stain with the mixture. Be sure not to scrub or use too much pressure, as this can damage the fibers of rug.
Step 6: Blot Dry
After rinsing the stain, you can use a clean cloth to blot the area dry.
Step 7: Let it Air Dry
Finally, leave the rug to air dry. This should take between 8 to 10 hours, so be patient!
