How to Easily Remove Marker Stains from Accessories

Removing the Stain
- Rubbing alcohol or hairspray: These both work great to remove marker stains. To use them, spray directly onto the stain and allow it to sit for two minutes. Rub the area lightly with a cloth, then rinse with water. Repeat if needed until stain is gone.
- Nail Polish Remover: You can also use nail polish remover to remove marker stains. Put some on a cotton pad or paper towel, and dab the stained area gently. Don’t rub or you could spread the stain. Again, if needed, repeat this process until stain is gone.
- Lemon Juice: This is one of the most effective methods for removing marker stains from fabric. Simply apply some fresh lemon juice to the stain and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with water and repeat if necessary.
- Vinegar: Vinegar can be used to remove stubborn marker stains from clothing. Soak stained area in a cup of white vinegar for about 20 minutes, then rinse the stain with warm water. Repeat if needed.
- Baking Soda: Baking soda is yet another effective solution for removing marker stains from fabric. Make a paste of baking soda and water, and apply to the stained area. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
Preventing the Stain
The best way to deal with a marker stain is to prevent it completely. To do this, make sure children are supervised when using markers and that the caps are replaced after each use. Place a drop cloth underneath where your kids are working to help protect against stains.
