Things You'll Need

  • Clean cloths/towels
  • White vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Dish soap
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Baking soda

Step 1: Blot the Stain

If the stain is on fabric or upholstery, start by blotting the area with a clean cloth or towel to absorb as much of the ink as possible. Be sure not to scrub stain as this could cause it to spread.

Step 2: Make a Cleaning Solution

For most fabrics, create a cleaning solution by mixing equal parts of white vinegar and water in a bowl. Test the solution on an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it won’t damage the fabric.

Step 3: Apply the Cleaning Solution

Next, dip a cloth into the solution and use it to dab at the stain. Repeat until the entire stain is covered. Let mixture sit for 5-10 minutes before wiping it off with a damp cloth.

Step 4: Treat Stubborn Stains

For very stubborn stains, combine one part hydrogen peroxide with two parts dish detergent and apply to the stain. Allow the solution to sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with a damp cloth. If the stain persists, try using rubbing alcohol or baking soda. For both methods, saturate the stain before using a cloth or brush to gently scrub the area.
