Whether you’re dealing with a lipstick stain that’s fresh or a bit older, removing it from your trench coat is relatively easy if you take the proper steps. Here’s a quick guide on how to clean lipstick stains from your favorite trench coat:
- Start by blotting stain. Use a soft cloth or tissue to dab the stained area to remove as much of the lipstick as possible.
- Apply a pre-wash stain remover to the affected areas of the trench coat. Work in gently with a soft cloth or brush.
- Soak the trench coat in cold water for at least 30 minutes (but no longer than an hour). This will help to set stain remover and loosen any remaining lipstick.
- Wash the trench coat according to the instructions on its care label. You may need to repeat steps 2-3 if the stain persists.
- Allow trench coat to air dry, then inspect for any remaining traces of the lipstick. If any residue remains, simply repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is gone.
With these steps, you should be able to remove lipstick stains from your trench coat in no time!
