Start by absorb any excess liquid with a paper towel or cotton cloth. Place the cloth over the stain and press down lightly. You don't want to rub the cloth vigorously—this could further spread the stain. Just press down gently to help soak up as much of the liquid as possible.
Mix together a solution of one part dish soap and one part warm water. Make sure the water is not too hot, as this could damage the fabric.
Using a clean cloth, dampen it with the soapy water and gently dab stain. The key here is to be gentle—you don't want to rub too hard and risk damaging fabric. Work from the outside of the stain, slowly making your way in towards center.
Once you've removed as much of stain as possible, rinse the affected area with cold water. This will help remove any leftover soap residue. Repeat steps 2-4 if necessary.
