Gather up the supplies you'll need for cleaning the stains: laundry detergent, a few white cloths, a wet toothbrush, a laundry stain remover, and some vinegar or lemon juice.
Before cleaning the stain, dampen the fabric with warm water and apply a small amount of laundry detergent onto the stain. Allow this to soak for five to ten minutes to help break up lipstick.
Spray the stained area with your chosen laundry stain remover and gently rub it into the fabric with a white cloth. Rinse the area thoroughly and let it air dry.
Using a wet toothbrush, lightly scrub the stained area in a circular motion. This will help loosen any lingering bits of lipstick. Rinse the fabric once more to remove the detergent.
If the stain remains, create a cleaning solution by mixing warm water, vinegar or lemon juice, and a few drops of liquid detergent. Dip one of your white cloths in the solution and rub the stain gently with it. Rinse, and repeat if necessary.
Cleaning lipstick stains from swim trunks is certainly doable! With a few simple steps, you can eliminate these unsightly marks and enjoy your swimming trunks once more.
