If you notice the stain when it is still fresh, it will be easier to remove. The first thing to do is to remove as much excess lipstick as possible from the garment. Then, use a paper towel to blot the area.
One of simplest ways to remove a lipstick stain is to use soap and warm water. Pour some gentle laundry detergent into the stain, and not directly onto the skirt, and use your finger to rub it in gently. Then, place the skirt in a sink filled with warm water and let it soak for 15 minutes.
For tougher stains, hairspray or rubbing alcohol can be used. Apply the hairspray or rubbing alcohol directly onto stain and use a blotting motion to absorb the stain. Make sure to rinse off the area with cold water once you are done.
If all else fails, you can use a rubbing detergent to remove stain. Apply the detergent directly onto stain and then rub it in with a cloth. Rinse the area with cold water and then launder the skirt as usual.
Removing lipstick stains from your skirts doesn't have to be a daunting task. With a few simple steps, you can easily remove the stain and have your skirt looking as good as new in no time.
