Removing Lipstick Stains from Silk Crepe de Chine
- Start by blotting the stain with a clean, soft cloth to absorb as much excess lipstick as possible.
- Mix gentle soap and warm water, and apply directly to the stain. Gently rub the soap into the fabric using your fingertips.
- Once the area is saturated with soap, rinse the fabric with cold water and blot dry with a towel.
- If any lipstick stains remain, make a paste of 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and rub it onto the stain. Allow the paste to sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
- If necessary, repeat steps 3 and 4 until all trace of the lipstick stain is gone.
- For extra odor-fighting power, you can pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto stain and work it into the fabric with your fingertips. Blot dry with a towel and wash after use.
