Removing Lipstick Stains from Silk Crepe de Chine

  1. Start by blotting the stain with a clean, soft cloth to absorb as much excess lipstick as possible.
  2. Mix gentle soap and warm water, and apply directly to the stain. Gently rub the soap into the fabric using your fingertips.
  3. Once the area is saturated with soap, rinse the fabric with cold water and blot dry with a towel.
  4. If any lipstick stains remain, make a paste of 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and rub it onto the stain. Allow the paste to sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
  5. If necessary, repeat steps 3 and 4 until all trace of the lipstick stain is gone.
  6. For extra odor-fighting power, you can pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto stain and work it into the fabric with your fingertips. Blot dry with a towel and wash after use.
