The first step is to use a spoon or flat object to gently lift any excess lipstick residue off the scarf before you start cleaning. Make sure not to rub too hard, as this can set the stain further into the fabric. Once you've removed any excess residue, soak a cloth in cold water and blot the area to remove as much of the stain as possible.
Mixing a gentle detergent with cold water is one of the best ways to clean a lipstick stain from a scarf. Make sure that the detergent is specifically designed for delicate fabrics, so as not to damage the fabric. Once you've mixed the solution, dip a clean cloth and sponge the affected area in a gentle circular motion.
Once you've done all cleaning, rinse the affected area with cold water and then hang the scarf up to air dry. Once scarf is completely dry, check the stain to make sure that the lipstick has been successfully removed.
