The first step in removing a lipstick stain from sandals is to gently brush off any excess lipstick. A soft-bristled toothbrush can help you do this without damaging the sandal. This will remove some of the lipstick and make it easier to treat the rest.
Once you’ve removed any excess lipstick, it's time to pretreat the stain. Start by dabbing the area with a damp cloth to loosen the stain. If the stain isn't coming off easily, add a few drops of mild laundry detergent to the damp cloth and continue blotting until the stain starts to lighten.
Once the stain has been pretreated, it's time to wash the sandals. Fill a sink with warm water and a few squirts of mild laundry soap and submerge the sandals. Use a gentle hand movement to swirl the sandals around in the water and remove the stain. When done, rinse the sandals in clean, warm water.
Once the sandals are washed and rinsed, lay them flat on a towel and let air dry. Never put sandals in the washing machine or use a dryer. This could cause sandals to shrink or wear down too quickly.
