Removing lipstick stains from poplin fabric is not always an easy task. It might seem daunting, but with the right method and a bit of time, you can easily remove lipstick marks from your favourite popin item. Below are the simple steps you need to take in order to make the stain disappear.
The quicker you take action, the greater chance you have of removing the stain. As soon as you notice the mark, use a clean white cloth to blot area, taking care not to spread the stain further. This will help to remove some of the colour and oils and stop the stain from setting.
Mix together a solution of dish soap and cold water. You should aim for a 1 to 10 ratio, with one part liquid soap and 10 parts water. As poplin is a delicate fabric, opt for a mild detergent as opposed to a harsher one.
Using a fresh, clean sponge, apply your cleaning solution to stained area. Use a gentle circular motion and dab the stain until all residue is gone. Once you’re satisfied, rinse the area with clean water and leave to dry.
With these fool-proof steps, you can be sure you’ll be able to successfully remove any lipstick stains from your poplin fabrics!
